On Friday 28 February, the College hosted the U11s County Hockey Tournament.

Battling hard through two competitive matches, our U11 boys’ hockey team faced Aldwickbury and Heath Mount Schools.

The team found their rhythm five minutes into the match against Aldwickbury, with a well-worked team goal giving the boys a 1-0 lead. The defence stood firm, and the team continued to score goal after goal. Alex A was on fire and managed to score three more goals. Hugo G finished off the scoring with a back post tap in, giving the College a 5-0 victory.

In the final match, the boys faced a strong team from Heath Mount. The team delivered a brilliant performance, winning 3-2. Two quick goals from Heath Mount, the boys regrouped and combined with a disciplined defensive display, made for an impressive finish. Thomas R scored two goals quickly, with Alex L scoring a last-minute deflection from a short corner. The result was a testament to the boys’ resilience and their ability to step up when it mattered most.

The team finished the tournament with two wins and were crowned U11 boys’ hockey County Champions.

The team will now compete in the East Regional Finals on 21 March at Stamford.
