Five Prep School pupils have been selected to represent the U13 East hockey team, Anglian Eagles, at the boys’ and girls’ respective national finals competitions in June and July.

Henry C and Aiden S were selected for the U13 boys’ team and will play in their first fixture for the team on Friday 21 June, whilst Ava I-W, Jemima T, and Sophia V were selected for the U13 girls’ team and will compete in July, alongside Elsie L who was selected as a training reserve.

Having played at two trials which formed the selection process, Henry, Aiden, Ava, Jemima, Sophia, and Elsie were selected from over 100 girls and 80 boys in attendance at the trials from across the entire East region. At the College, Aiden and Henry play for our boys’ U13A team, Jemima and Ava for our girls’ U13A team, and Sophia and Elsie for our girls’ U12A team.

Dave Hughes, Assistant Director of Sport (Prep School), commented, “We are extremely proud of our pupils who have been selected for the U13 Anglian Eagles regional team. It is a brilliant achievement to be selected to represent the East and I wish them the best of the luck at the national finals in June (boys) and July (girls).”

The UK Lions national finals tournament will see the Anglian Eagles up against nine other teams from across several UK regions including the Southwest, Midlands, and North East.

This news follows on from three of our Senior School pupils, Evie C, Charlotte P, and Izzy J, representing the U14 Hertford Hockey Club Lionesses who were runners up at the recent England Hockey Tier One National Finals.

We wish our pupils the best of luck at their upcoming national finals.
