Lower Third pupil, Delilah W, made her English National Ballet debut at the end of November, performing the role of young Clara in the festive staple, The Nutcracker.

The story of the Nutcracker follows the protagonist, Clara, as she meets an enchanted Nutcracker doll and has a magical sugar plum vision sparking an adventure where she meets the Rat King, Ice Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy.

Performing the role of Young Clara, which was created especially for this production, Delilah is in the 1st Cast, also known as the principle cast. With over 100 dancers and musicians bringing the performance to life, this is a brand new production choreographed by the English National Ballet’s Artistic Director, Aaron Watkins, and Oliver award-winner, Arielle Smith.

Delilah took to the stage on Thursday 28, Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton for her debut, receiving flowers on opening night, and a standing ovation from the audience on closing night. Delilah will continue her performances over the festive period at the London Coliseum.

Congratulations to Delilah on this amazing achievement!
