Operating on a fleet of Bishop’s Stortford College minibuses, our transport service connects towns and villages across Hertfordshire and Essex with the College, offering pupils a safe and reliable route to school, at the start and end of each day.

From September 2025, the network which currently operates across five routes, will be expanding eastwards for the first time, with a new service from Braintree being introduced. The service will start at Freeport railway station, with stops in Great Notley, Rayne, Bannister Green, Felsted, Dunmow, and Takeley, getting pupils to the College by 8.15am each weekday. The return service will depart the College around 5.15pm.

Commenting on the introduction of the new route, Operations and Commercial Director, Emma Tumelty said, “The minibus route network served by our College Transport Service is constantly being reviewed, to reflect changes in demand on existing routes, and requests from current and prospective families for new routes.”

“Based on these requests, and feedback from parents, we are confident that the new route will prove popular with families already at the College, as well as those looking to join us in September.”

Bookings for the new Braintree service open in the summer term via the College Transport portal.
