U11’s Storm to Victory at East Regional Hockey Championships

On Friday 21 March, our U11 boys’ hockey team traveled to Stamford for the U11 In2Hockey East Regional Championships.

A 0-0 draw against Bedford School started the day, followed by a 3-0 win against New Hall School with the team finding their rhythm and playing some excellent hockey. The third match saw the team lose 1-3 against St Faith’s School, but in their fourth match our U11’s came alive once again, delivering their best performance of the day with a 5-0 win against Framlingham College, and followed up with another 5-0 win against Gresham’s School, taking them into the semi-finals.

Up against The Perse in a tight, possession-based game, the match ended 0-0 leading into penalty shuffles. The team kept their calm to secure a 3-1 shuffle victory, sending them into the final against St Faith’s School once again.

The College started slowly, and St Faith’s capitalised with an early goal, taking a 1-0 lead. However, the team remained resilient, leveling the match at 1-1 with just three minutes remaining. With a strong defense from the boys, the match went into penalty shuffles. Crucial saves from our goalkeeper, and confident scoring from the team led to a 2-1 win on shuffles, securing the title of East Regional Champions.
