Bishop’s Stortford College U13 netball team are Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) regional champions 2024.
The IAPS U13 regional competition was held at Ipswich Sport Centre on Friday 2 February. Competing against 13 other schools, the tournament saw the College win all nine of its matches, against teams from Town Close School, South Lee School, Holmwood House School, King’s College School, Old Buckenham Hall School, Beeston Hall School, Gresham’s School, Langley Preparatory School, and Heath Mount School. Scorelines throughout the day included 21-1, 21-2, and 19-0 for the College.
After victories in the quarter and semi-finals, the College took on Heath Mount School in the final, which saw a thrilling display of netball from both teams. The College clinched the match with a 12-6 win, securing the title of U13 regional netball champions.
The team will now progress to the national finals on Tuesday 19 March at Millfield School.
Director of Sport, Health, and Fitness, Evan Stewart, commented “This is a superb victory for our U13s of whom we are immensely proud. The results of the competition are not only testament to their hard work and skill, but also to our outstanding coaching staff who have supported them this season. We look forward to watching the team progress throughout the term, and have our sights now firmly set on the national finals in March.”
